China claimed to have built a world’s fastest supercomputer. The Chinese supercomputer was named Tianhe-1, it is located at the National Supercomputing Center in the northern city of Tianjin. Tianhe-1 capable of 2.507 petaflops, equivalent to 2507 trillion calculations per second.

Tianhe-1 is significantly faster than the Cray XT5 Jaguar owned by Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Tennessee, USA. Cray XT5 bedara Jaguar still on the order No. 1 on the TOP500 (updated June 2010) with AMD x86_64 Opteron Six Core 2600 MHz (10.4 GFlops)
